Chimpanzee trekking.
Trekking through the mighty Nyungwe Forest is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for nature enthusiasts, and seeing them in the wild is on many bucket lists with Africa being the best (if only) Continent to see them in their natural habitats. Canopy walk
The canopy walk– activity is among the most wonderful in Nyungwe forest and is ever first activity in East Africa which is carried out on top of trees, offers you an astonishing view of a wide number of unique wildlife mammals, bird species, butterflies, and tree species, and other creatures which are found in Nyungwe Forest. The famous ‘Canopy Walk is 50 meters high in the air from the ground and the walkway is 200 meters in length which hangs across a steep and deep valley filled with thick forest. The Canopy Walk as an activity takes close to 2 hours from the start and the endpoint is at the Nyungwe National Park headquarters – the Uwinka tourist reception center.
Hike Isumo trail.
A hike to the Isumo trail in Nyungwe takes tourists through an off-beaten track to encounter some of the precious attractions found within the mountainous rainforest of Nyungwe Forest National Park. Hike through the waterfall trail rewards tourists with the sights and sounds of numerous bird species, wildlife, and other residents of the forest, not forgetting the jaw-dropping Isumo waterfall which lasts about 4-5 hours.

As jaw-dropping as the fauna and flora of Nyungwe Forest National Park are, the memories you will treasure most from your safari is the visit to Bisesero village- it’s important and popular for being the home to breathtaking scenery as well as a dramatic genocide memorial. Bisesero village is a small hilly lush village situated approximately 30 kilometers south-east of Kibuye, Karongi district in the Western Province of Rwanda. Bisesero is not an ordinary village but is very instrumental in shaping the genocide history of Rwanda.
