Black –fronted duiker and bushbuck inhabit the bamboo forest, while the tracks and faeces of both buffalo and elephant are commonly seen here.

Akagera now boasts a healthy population of lions, introduced in 2015 after a 20 year absence, black rhinos were introduced in 2017 and 5 more rhinos were brought in 2019.
Nyungwe Forest National Park in Rwanda is one of the oldest rain forests in Africa. The famous Chimpanzee Park in Rwanda is abundantly blessed with rich biodiversity that one cannot find elsewhere in both Rwanda and the East African region.
The Park is believed to be the heart of Rwanda’s wildlife, including a small population of unique chimpanzees as well as 12 other species of primate, including the L’Hoest’s monkey endemic to the Albertine Rift and spectacularly beautiful bird species.
