Day 1: Leave Kigali –Nyungwe Forest National Park (Travel Time +6hrs)
07:00 Early morning departure for Nyungwe national park in the South-western region of Rwanda. en-route we pass through the Cultural heritage Corridor stopping at King Mutara III Rudahigwa’s 1931 royal palace museum, standing today as it was many decades ago with the ‘Inyambo’, traditional Rwandan cows known for their impressive long horns. Arriving at your lodge ready for lunch and afternoon relaxation and sightseeing.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trek & Gisakura Tea experience
Today at 05h00 you will get your packed breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for chimpanzee trek briefing and formalities and then to the evergreen forest for a great experience that starts at 06h00. You may spot a wide variety of bird life. Dashing at high speed through the flora, hooting and clanging – it’s a truly exhilarating experience to encounter chimpanzees playing, wild and free.
Home to one of East Africa’s last intact chimpanzee populations, Nyungwe is an ideal place to observe chimps in their natural habitat. Most active in the morning, an early rise is required for maximum viewing opportunity, and a beautifully prepared breakfast will be enjoyed ‘on the go’. Allow experienced, expert trackers to guide you on a deep forest trail, learning about these fascinating creatures and the enchanting forest they call home.
You will have a guided tour of Gisakura Tea plantation and factory. Tea is Rwanda’s largest export, and you can see it in the landscape. Tea leaves cover the mountains and give a dark green contrast to the blue skies, dirt roads and sunshine. Fertile volcanic soils provide for the perfect tea making environment, making Rwanda the perfect home for these endless plantations. You can discover how tea is harvested and even get to taste the specialty!

Day 3: Morning Canopy Walk Nyungwe-Kigali Out (Drive Time +5hrs)
An early morning by 08:00 be transferred for canopy walk briefing that takes place at 09h00. Your guided canopy walk will start and experience the rainforest from a dazzling new perspective – on the famous Canopy Walkway. The only walk of its kind in East Africa, this breathtaking construction hangs 60 metres above the forest floor between giant trees and towers, revealing a stunning view of the flora and fauna, both below and above. An iconic experience, not to be missed! Thereafter return to Kigali with a long drive arriving in the evening for your drop-off at the airport for your outbound flight.
